加中人文学术交流促进会由在蒙特利尔的华人移民自愿发起组成。
The Sino-Canadian Association for the Promotion of Academic Exchanges in the Humanities is established voluntarily by the Chinese imigrants in Montreal, Canada.

相对于自然科学，人文与社会科学研究与交流有一定的特殊性，语言与文化的障碍较多，需要更多的疏导和沟通。本会希望能为促进魁北克地区乃至加拿大与中国人文学术之间的相互了解与交流贡献自己的力量。
Compared to research in natural science, the research and exchange in the humanities and social science have their own particularities, for example, having more cultual and linguistic obstacles and needing more appeasements with comunications. The association wishes to contribute to the promotion of the mutural understandings and exchanges in the humanities between Canada, including Quebec, and China.

在促进会的初创阶段，希望在以下几个方面开展工作：
（一） 促进双方有关大学、 研究机构、社团的联系，为双方人文领域研究机构、大学、学者提供有关咨询，促进信息交流。
（二） 不定期组织人文学术交流研讨、学术演讲等活动。　
（三） 参与和组织有关人文学术交流活动的策划、运作。
（四）促进人才交流, 寻找双方有共同兴趣的研究课题，促成合作计划的实现。
（五）积极创造条件，网络人才，协助解决语言交流方面的困难。

At its initial stage, the association would like to work in the following aspect:
(1) promote contacts among universities, research institutions and associations concerned, provide them with consultations, and promote the information exchanges;
(2) hold aperiodically activities such as seminars and lectures for academic exchanges;
(3) participate in designing and implementing a strategy for academic exchanges;
(4) promote exchanges in talents and the collaborative research projects in which both parts are interested;
(5) attract talents by creating favorable conditions and help solve problems in linguistic comunications.

本会希望在加拿大这个多元文化领域中增加一个加中人文交流的园地，一方面促进双方的了解和交流；一方面通过交流增强华人社团与主流社会的沟通，为华人参与主流社会提供渠道，促进华人溶入主流社会。
The association aims to provide a new horizon for the Sino-Canadian academic exchanges in the humanities in the multicultural Canada. On one hand, it will promote the Sino-Canadian mutual understandings with exchanges, on another hand, it will strengthen the communications between the Chinese corporations and the mainstream society of Canada with exchanges so as to provide the Chinese people with a channel to participate in and enter the mainstream society.
